The government has banned a TV show on Disney channel from airing in the country.
Authorities say they took the decision after the channel introduced a gay character for its second season.
The Disney Channel recently made history after introducing a gay storyline to its show, Andi Mack, for the second season.
It is here that 13-year-old Cyrus Goodman confesses to his best friend that he is gay and has a crush on another kid Jonah Beck.
The Kenya Film Classification Board boss Ezekiel Mutua has now moved in and said the programme will not be permitted to air in the country.
Through his Facebook timeline, Mutua said his organisation was 'unapologetic' over matters related to protecting children from inappropriate content.
“When it comes to protecting children from exposure to bad content we are resolute and unapologetic. Gay content will not air in Kenya, period,” said Mutua.
“The institution of family is sacrosanct. It's the basic unit of society and it's derived from a union between a man and a woman. Any other doctrine, teaching or information is a heresy and a travesty,” Mutua said.
