Health Cabinet Secretary Cleopa Mailu has called for calm as the government awaits Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) to conclude investigations into rape allegations at Kenya National Hospital.
Speaking on Tuesday, Mailu said that the state will issue a report once the DCIO presents its findings.
Mailu distanced the KNH management from the saga, saying so far no concrete evidence has been tabled in respect to the allegations made against it.
“As far as I am concerned, nobody has come to me with evidence,” said Mailu adding; “It is wrong to make accusations based on mere allegations.”
Mailu was addressing the press at a hotel in Mombasa after a meeting with the health committee.
At the same time, the Witness Protection Agency (WPA) has pledged to take care of witnesses and victims of alleged rape at the hospital.
