[Photo/hapakenya.com]The National Treasury has denied reports that the government contracted Goldrock Capital firm to collect revenue on the government services portal eCitizen. According to Business Daily, Treasury PS KamauThugge in court papers on Monday disowned the company. "I am aware that the government has not authorized Goldrock Capital to collect the convenience fee or otherwise derive any remunerative benefit from any transaction carried on the eCitizen portal. I am aware the Goldrock is not contracted by the CS to collect revenue for and on behalf of the government," Dr. Thugge's response reads in part.Goldrock had sued the treasury and Webmasters Kenya which developed the eCitizen portal for denying it access to the website's mobile money platform receiving millions of shillings a day from Kenyans applying for government services.Although in the suite, Webmasters Kenya responded saying that there was no tangible evidence linking the firm with Goldrock."There is no privity of contract between Goldrock Capital and Webmasters Kenya. Goldrock has not demonstrated by affidavit evidence that it has a relationship with Webmasters Kenya," a statement by Webmasters Kenya reads in part.
