NASA leaders from Nyamira County have shifted blame on President Uhuru Kenyatta following High Court’s decision to order vote recount in Nyamira governorship poll.
In his grand ruling on Monday, Justice David Majanja said a recount could not prejudice all parties in the case that was filed by Walter Nyambati against Governor John Nyagarama.
“The second respondent should identify the room in which votes from 90 polling stations will be counted. Scrutiny will also be done,” read part of his ruling.
Days before presidential repeat poll, Uhuru had vowed to ‘revisit’ Nyamira governorship outcome where he insisted that Jubilee was robbed.
And Borabu MP Ben Momanyi says State House is ‘forcing’ a by election by ‘bribing’ presiding judge to rule for ‘suspicious’ recount.
“The case was weak and even the crucial witness was sidelined by the court. State House is forcing a by election by instructing presiding judge. They are trying to use clerical errors to order an election.”
From Wednesday, both parties will witness thorough scrutiny and recount in 90 polling stations in a governorship case that could be the first to be concluded.
