State House had congratulated the Supreme Court’s move to order their judgment made on the death penalty on Thursday, be placed before the National Assembly for necessary amendments.
The top most court led by Chief Justice, David Maraga, had made a ruling that death penalty was unconstitutional.
They then ordered that the judgment is placed before the National Assembly speaker, for necessary amendments.
The apex court judges further directed the Attorney General, the Director of Public Prosecution and other agencies to prepare a detailed professional review of cases regarding sentencing.
State House, through a tweet on Friday, said the Supreme Court did well by issuing various landmark interpretations of the law as an advisory.
It further indicated that the aspect of advisory opinions provided by the new constitution was transformative aspects of the country’s law.

Earlier on Thursday, the International Commission of Jurist Chairman, Kelvin Mogeni congratulated the Supreme Court on how they handled the death penalty case.
