State House Public Communication boss Munyori Buku Thursday said Odinga and Moses Wetangula were lying to the public that each side was to nominate 5 representatives to discuss the IEBC.

“There is no falsehood greater than this. The President and the DP (William Ruto) have been categorical that they swore to defend and protect the Constitution; on the IEBC issue, that position cannot change,” he said in a statement.

“If there were deal -as Cord falsely claims - why did they sneak the news to one newspaper anonymously. If a deal had been struck, they would have confidently announced it to the country,” he added.

Buku said the only issue on the table was the invitation to the Madaraka Day celebrations in Nakuru.

Tuesday, opposition chiefs Odinga and Wetangula attended a State Luncheon in honour of visiting South Korea President Park Guen-hye.

Odinga later claimed during the Cord rally at Uhuru Park that the President had agreed to engage in dialogue over disbandment of IEBC.

Cord went ahead and named five legislators to spearhead the said talks.

They are; Siaya Senator James Orengo, his Machakos counterpart Johnson Muthama, Tongaren MP Eseli Simiyu, Suna East MP Junet Mohammed and Mombasa Women Representative Mishi Mboko.
