According to Raila Odinga, the meeting was meant to address some of the issues raised by CORD among them being the issue of IEBC.

Pictures and videos of Raila and Wetangula talking to President Uhuru Kenyatta, Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery and Majority Leader Aden Duale among others while having lunch have left many bashing those who have been attending CORD demonstrations against IEBC officers, saying that the leaders are friends.

One Kenyan on facebook has stated that those who respond to the mass action to demonstrate against IEBC deserve to be teargassed for heading the call.

"‘How stupid can citizens of this great country be. Anyone responding to the call of mass action by the politicians is very stupid and deserves the teargas and every beating from the police which they will receive. Raila and Uhuru are dining together and you are busy tearing at each other on social media," saidEllah Adindah.

On the other hand, another facebook user has bashed all Kenyans who are ready to put their lives on the line for politicians who don’t seem to have their interest at heart.

While some stupid, sycophantic, tribal, naive and gullible Kenyans are planning to put their heads and limbs on the line to defend Jubilee and Cord tomorrow, Raila and Uhuru are gnawing goat meat and sipping expensive wines at State House. These people are close buddies but Kenyans don't seem to get it. Stupid Kenyans!" another user said.

Kenyans have been urged to unite.

"Kenyans should unite! You are all Kenyans and Africans these so called tribes has nothing to do with you! I'm happy seeing Raila and Uhuru together, they should end these violence once and for all for a better Kenya," stated Ramzy Kasika via facebook.
