Patients at the John Lee Hospital in Sahuri Moyo in Nairobi are traumatized after a night of terror at the hands of attackers.
The harrowing incident took place on Monday night at 8 pm.
It is still unclear on how and why the four young men armed with guns decided to stage such an attack on the sick.
Sources within the hospital said a dialysis machine was also stolen.
“They roughed us up before stealing cash and phones from us,” a patient said.
The star reported that officers from Buru Buru police station visited the hospital on Tuesday as investigations commenced.
The incident occurred at a time when scandals have hit Kenya’s main hospital Kenyatta National Referral Hospital over a surgery mix up that occurred there.
This scandal is the latest after women in the hospital who have babies in the nursery unit raised rape claims which went viral on social media.
It was claimed that morgue attendants sexually assault the mothers as they move from the third floor to the first flow to breastfeed their younglings during odd hours of the night.
