Land has become a very important thing that many people value a lot. Many cases lie in courts concerning the grabbing of different types of pieces of land.

Due to this, the ministry of land now has decided to address the issue. It has promised to fight and take back plots and houses grabbed by different private developers

Lands minister, Jacob Kaimenyi called on the National Lands Commission to review the legality of the possession of the plots said to have been grabbed.

Last year, children of Lang’ata Primary School protested against the grabbing of the land that they believed belonged to their school. The land was said to be the play ground for the school kids. They were, however, treated badly in the hands of police who sprayed them with teargas.

The event attracted critics from the public and human activists who questioned how the police could spray teargas to such young kids. Police, however, said it was the only way to disperse the public that had accompanied the kids.
