The government has laid out appropriate measures that will see all public schools across the country connected with internet, Information, communication and Technology (ICT) Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has said.

Speaking at Jomo Kenyatta High School in Nakuru on Monday, the CS said that the government is banking on ICT to improve learning in schools.

He said that appropriate mechanisms have been put in place to ensure that schools have internet by the end of this year.

“The government is keen to incorporate us of ICT in learning to make it effective and interactive,” he said.

Matiang’i said that various infrastructure including laying off of internet cables has been completed in Nakuru and other counties across the country.

The CS urged teachers and students to take advantage of the internet growth and connectivity to enhance their education.

At the same time, the CS has called on the youths across the country to apply for Uwezo fund and venture into ICT related businesses.

The CS noted that the government has availed enough funds that aimed at empowering young entrepreneurs.
