The construction of an electric fence around conservancies in Laikipia County to curb human-wildlife conflict is on course, President Uhuru Kenyatta has assured.
The President said the Government has allocated Sh200 million to ensure the fencing projected is implemented.
“We are also working on a package to compensate those have been affected by wildlife destruction in one way or another,” President Kenyatta.
The Head of State spoke on Monday at Rumuruti in Laikipia County where he urged residents to come out in large numbers to register as voters.
President Kenyatta had earlier visited Doldol where he sensitise residents, especially the youth, on the importance of registering as voters.
The President also called on Jubilee supporters to register as party members even as they enlist as voters to consolidate the party’s strength.
He also made stopovers to address wananchi at Wiyumiririe, Nairutia and Mweiga to emphasize the need for them to enlist as voters so that they can participate in choosing development-conscious leaders who will cater for their welfare.
