The government is set to spend Sh15 billion compensating land owners affected by the second phase of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) project.
The SGR phase dubbed 2A project is an extension of the SGR line from Nairobi to Naivasha.
The project will cover a total of 120 kilometers and will cost Sh150 billion being financed by the Chinese Government.
The government approved the designs for the Nairobi-Naivasha SGR in March and later signed commercial contracts with China Communications Construction Company.
