Machakos town MP Victor Munyaka has asked the national government to deploy enough police officers to all schools across the country.

Briefing the media from his office on Friday, Munyaka said that it is important for the government to put in place measures that will guarantee safety of students in schools and universities.

He observed that criminal and terror groups are devising new ways and places of committing their heinous crimes and that the government must confront them.

“The government should deploy enough security personnel to schools and universities across the country,” he said.

The MP who condemned the Garissa University terror attack said that the war against terrorism must be intensified.

He said that terrorists should not be given time to continue causing fear and deaths among Kenyans.

The MP said that it is time Kenya lobbied for international support in the fight against terror.

The lawmaker said that the economy of the country is likely to go down if the terrorists are not kept at bay.

The Machakos MP also asked the security agencies to coordinate together and act on intelligence provide by the West governments.

“We cannot ignore the travel advisories being issued by the West, the government must seek more information from this countries and act,” he said.

The MP said that Machakos people are in prayers with the families and relatives who lost their loved ones in the Garissa attack.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery yesterday confirmed that 148 people were killed in the attack.

He also confirmed that four terrorists who orchestrated that attack were also killed.
