Speaking when he hosted Kenya Private Schools Association (KPSA) Nakuru chapter on Thursday, Mbugua said that partnering with the private sector will be a boost for education.

The governor observed the national government is not investing enough in education hence the many challenges.

“The government must consider partnering with the private sector to boost education standards in the country,” he said.

Mbugua stated that education remains key to any economy and that appropriate measures should be implemented to boost it.

The county boss asserted that Nakuru County is liaising with the private schools in the county to boost performance.

“We have over 400 private schools in Nakuru which we are working closely to promote performance in public schools,” he said.

Mbugua promised to promote programmes that will see education standards in Nakuru improve.

He said that money has already been set aside for programmes where children from public schools will be mentored.

Kenya Private Schools Association Nakuru chapter chairman Jack Koskey pledged to work with the county government to better education.

He said that though there are many challenges in the sector, they can be overcome through proper legislations and policies.
