Bogichora Ward representative Beuttah Omanga has urged the government to compensate the family of the slain GSU Recce squad officer Dennis Momanyi who was killed in the Kapenguria police station attack on Thursday.
Speaking at the late Momnayi's home in Nyamira County, Omanga argued that the officer had left behind a family that depended on him and thus it was the moral obligation of the government to ensure they were well taken care of.
“I am appealing to the government of Kenya to continue paying salaries of Dennis Momanyi and other officers who die in the line of duty as a way of consoling their families,” he said.
"It is important to also note that Momanyi has left behind a young family that solely depended on him. It is therefore important that this family gets compensated for the loss," he added.
Momanyi who belonged to GSU's Recce squad was killed by a rogue police officer in Kapenguria on Thursday.
He hails from Sironga village, Bogichora Ward in Nyamira County. He had been married for just a month.
