Led by Esise ward rep Joseph Nyarang'o said cattle rustling across the Kipsigis, Maasai and Kisii boundary has become a security threat.

"We will not continue losing our livestock to thieves. The government should step up and ensure cattle rustling is a past tense in the borders for the communities to live in peace," said Nyarang'o.

The MCA gave acting Interior CS Fred Matiang'i until January, 2018 to stamp out the vice or they take action.

"Matiang'i knows cattle rustling is taking place here but, he has kept mum. If he fails to take action by January next year, I will ask my people to defend themselves,"Nyarang'o said.

He asked residents to be more vigilant and report any suspected cattle rustler to relevant authorities for immediate action to be taken.
