Speaking during Storymoja Festival at the Kenya National Library service-Nakuru branch Joann said this will help students to understand what they are taught easily.

“Not all of us can sit in class and listen to the teacher and have the ability to remember everything immediately the teacher leaves the classroom. Some of us need some alternative learning methods,” said Joanne.

She called on the stakeholders to invent ways in which the different types of students in a classroom could be catered for through use of the simple things at their disposal.

“We are all different and have different things at our disposal. We can use all these to our advantage and ensure we grasp the concepts that we should so that we are finally at per with the rest who understand by just listening,” notes Joanne.

She also advised parents to help their children nurture their talents for not all them will excel in academics.

“If talent is nurtured from a very young age, we shall have experts in so many different fields,” said Joanne.

Students who attended her session were treated to moments of fun filled with dance and singing before they could see the serious and optimistic judge Joan away from art what she is commonly associated with.
