Speaking during a HIV/Aids sensitisation workshop at Eldoret town on Wednesday, Uasin Gishu Youth Bunge chairman Collins Kemboi raised concerns over the high number of youths engaging in unprotected sex.

He said that most of them have no knowledge on matters sexuality; a situation he said poses a greater risk to the society.

“The government should initiate forums to educate the youths on matters touching on sexuality,” said Kemboi.

Kemboi intimated that cases of HIV/Aids are prevalent in the county because the youths and the people have no knowledge on issues touching on Sex and Aids.

He revealed that cases of teenage pregnancies are also high among school children in Eldoret town.

“Many of our teenage sisters are dropping out of school because of pregnancies, because of engaging in early unprotected sex,” added the chairman.

Meanwhile, kemboi challenged Uasin Gishu youths to take advantage of the government funds and start business.

He said that it is the only way through which they will be able to promote their lives and contribute to economic development.
