According to a source within the family, the president last Friday asked the Baringo senator to support his (Uhuru) re-election next year and merge Kanu into the force to drive Jubilee back to power.

The Star reports that details of Moi's response have not been disclosed although the call is said to be the reason Moi decided to back away from his earlier offer to make a political MoU with ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi.

The report further says that Uhuru assured Moi that "his interests and those of his family were well-taken care off in Jubilee, and not in NASA."

According to other reports from the NASA camp, the new coalition is planning to unseat Jubilee and offer Gideon Moi one of the two deputy president slots in their structure of governance.

Moi has however said that Kanu will not dishonor the agreement it signed with Jubilee and will not therefore join another alliance prior to the 2017 elections.

The NASA coalition will receive a major blow should Moi continue his allegiance to Jubilee in a stance that will be instrumental in shaping the 2017 political scape.
