Kibunguchy spoke on Monday amid fears from the public that there are 'selfish individuals' who want to take away public land, on which Turbo forest stands.

The legislator said that the alleged people involved in the ‘plans’ are senior people in the government.

“There are some individuals who are dreaming that they can grab land in Likuyani, some of which I hear are senior people in the government,” said Kibunguchy.

He added that the land, and any other public land in Likuyani, will never be personalised by 'big people' at the expense of the citizens.

“Let them hear, that public land will not be taken by some people. It will never happen under my watch,” he said.

Kibunguchy went ahead to urge Kenyan leaders to be contented with what they have and stop taking away public property for their own benefit.

“Those people who fly in airplanes while sniffing where they can privatize public land should be contented with what they have, the first thing we want to do is to give the land to squatters. If it remains, we can look at other projects to do,” he told his constituents.
