Speaking on Tuesday during a press briefing in Machakos town, Kiala said that some county employees accused of being corrupt have declined to step aside to pave a way for investigations.

“I want to make it clear that my office will not work with any persons in the Machakos County leadership accused of being corrupt. They are expected to step aside to pave away for investigations,” said Kiala.

Kiala further mentioned the county secretary Francis Mwaka as one of those mentioned in corruption hence need for him to step aside.

“He should not be in the office. He should emulate other state leaders who have stepped a side to pave away for investigation,” said Kiala.

However Mwaka’s opinion has not yet been established as he has been reluctant to talk about the issue
