Embattled Kisumu assembly speaker Anne Adul has been asked to step aside to allow for peace and development to prevail in the county assembly.
The county assembly has been having wrangles that sometimes paralyse house businesses and proceedings.
Nominated MCA for the youth Lydia Odhiambo has challenged the speaker to step aside to avoid further embarrassment and humiliation.
“The wrangles are not good at all and for the sake of peace ,the speaker should just step aside since it is already evident that the people who elected her are no longer with her and members of the house are also against her questionable leadership,” said Odhiambo.
The MCA ruled out chances of successful dialogue, saying that it cannot work as the time that speaker Anne Adul has been away she has made regrettable remarks on the MCAs.
“Let her step aside to allow for peace to prevail and house businesses to continue as this is the only way that we can deliver to the people of Kisumu,” she said.
Her statements were supported by her Nyalenda B counterpart James Were who said that Adul should resign as speaker for the assembly to continue with its normal operations. “Adul does not respect us and even goes to the extent of abusing us.
She blocks the investigative reports about her and prevents us from exercising our legislative duties to our electorates,” said Were.
