A study conducted by the John Hopkins University shows that there is a high number of adults who do not know how to use condoms.  Putting on a condom is a breeze for both first-time users and subsequent users.  However, you must understand what you are doing in order to get it right. Follow the following steps to wear the condom rightly before engaging in sex.

Check the expiry date: Start by checking whether the condom has expired or not. Expired condoms are likely to break during the act. In addition, ensure that the condom meets the required safety standards before using the same.

Open the condom carefully: The condom has to be opened carefully. Make sure you do not use your teeth when opening the package of condoms because you are likely to bite them.

Remove air: Hold the tip of the condom in order to remove the air. Roll the condom down to the base of your erect penis. Make sure that the penis is erect before wearing the condom. Ensure that the condom is inside before you go ahead to attempt rolling it into your penis. If you forget to roll the condom when it is inside out then there are chances that the fluid inside will spill making it less effective when it comes to lubrication. If the condom’s fluid flows out then you should throw it away and grab another one.

Lubrication: It is recommended to put a water-based lubrication on the outside of your condom before the act. The lubricant will reduce any form of friction hence fewer chances of breaking down the condom. Avoid oil-based lubricants including Vaseline among others.

Removal of the condom: Remove the condom while your penis is still erect. Hold onto the base of the condom and remove carefully to avoid spillages.

Tie a knot: Upon removing, tie a knot at the end before disposing of it. Wrap the used condoms into tissue paper for safe disposal.
