Stephen Ngila the man accused of chopping his wife's hands in Machakos has been remanded until August 10 when the court will rule on his bail applications.
Ngila today appeared in a Machakos court where his lawyer, Moses Kamolo had filled for him to be released on bail.
In his submissions, Kamolo said it was constitutionally right for Ngila to be released on bail and therefore thus the court should consider this case.
The complainant lawyer Joseph Kigonyo said that Ngila should not be bailed out as the matter is sensitive and he might interfere with the witness in the case as he and the complainant Jackeline Mwende hail from the same locality.
Senior resident magistrate K. Kibelion said that the court will make a ruling on the matter on Wednesday next week.
Ngila is accused of attempting to kill his wife after a domestic quarrel.
He is accused that on July 18, he attacked Jackeline Mwende and chopped off her hands and severely inflicted head injuries on her.
