Regional Traffic Enforcement Officer Joshua Omukata said stern action would be taken against any motorist reported to have knocked down anybody along the flyover.

“I urge drivers to avoid speeding near the flyover. This will help us avoid rampant road accident cases in the area,” said Omukata noting that the flyover is used by pedestrians.

He added, “I am especially warning public service vehicles who normally compete for customers and forget that there are laws that prohibit reckless and careless driving,” said Omukata.

Omukata added that his warning is not limited to bodaboda operators in the area. He said the move was aimed at saving the lives of all road users as many people have lost lives along the flyover.

“Our records indicate that last year alone, many road users lost their lives at the Kondele junction. This is why we decided to take stern action against careless motorists,” he said.
