Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has been challenged to support senator Chris Obure for the county's top job in August.
Maangi, who had agreed to work as Obure's deputy under the initial deal that would also see Charles Nyachae run for senatorial job, has since joined the race.
Jubilee Party youths led by organizing secretary Isaac Ongeri have reunited the debate, demanding that Maangi drops his bid in favour of Obure.
"We are keen to deliver gubernatorial seat for Jubilee and Obure should be our flag bearer. Maangi should come out openly and withdraw his bid," Ongeri said.
"Its like we want to lose again to ODM. Our camp should be much organized and that is why we need Maangi and Obure to work together. That is the only was we can do it," added Ongeri.
Obure has since nominated seasoned politician Albert Nyaundi as his running mate, a move that could further bring divisions among Jibilee supporters.
