The Ministry of Education has sent a stern warning to students found with mobile phones in examination rooms. Speaking at Senior Chief Koinange Girls secondary school on Monday, education Permanent Secretary Belio Kipsang said that two schools are being probed for allowing examination irregularity incidents.

MoE has inched up the penalties for exam irregularities in a bid to do away with examination fraud. This comes after the Permanent Secretary Belio Kipsang toured Senior Chief Koinange Girls and Kanunga Boys High School on Monday to supervise the progress of the ongoing KCSE.

According to Permanent Secretary Ministry of education, Belio Kipsang, two schools, in different incidents, have been found culpable of exam irregularities.

“After investigation of the two incidents, the ministry will act accordingly by deactivating the examination process of the students and de-registering the school.” Said Kipsang.

Kipsang warned those who intend to bring in materials that may compromise the examination process into the examination rooms saying measures had been put in place to deter the temptations from happening. One of the measures includes sending away out of the exam room any student caught in examination malpractices.
