Former Kenya Premier League (KPL) side Western Stima, maintained top spot on the National Super League (NSL) log after beating Nakuru All Stars 1-0 on Friday.
Stima Goalkeeper Samuel Odhiambo was the Power men’s hero with a penalty goal. The goal gave Stima a much needed win at the Nakuru’s Afraha Stadium, in a match that brought together former Premier League sides now plying their trade in NSL.
Kisumu based Stima becomes the first team to reach 20 points in NSL this season, three ahead of second, third and fourth placed Kibera Black Stars, KCB and Kisumu All Stars respectively.
Stima and Kibera Black Stars have all played 9 matches, while KCB and Kisumu All Stars have a game in hand each.
Nakuru All Stars are bottom of the table with zero points after 9 matches this season.
In other matches played on Friday, Coast Stima and Kangemi All Stars played to a 2-2 draw at Mbaraki Sports Club in Mombasa, KCB beat Bidco United 2-1 at the Thika Stadium while Kibera Black Stars picked up a 3-1 win over debutants Green Commandoes at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega.
On Saturday, FC Talanta will face Ushuru FC; Nairobi Stima will host Isibania while GFE 105 will be home against Kenya Police.
