Eldoret Catholic Diocese Bishop Cornelius Korir has expressed concerns over what he terms as continuous attacks by politicians targeting independent institutions.

Bishop Korir said politicians need to respect the institutions and allow them to deliver their constitution mandate.

Speaking to the press in Eldoret on Wednesday, Bishop Korir noted that attacks on the Judiciary and the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) will not be of any help to the nation.

"Our leaders have always been the ones calling for the independent institutions to be respected but it's a surprise that today they are attacking the Judiciary and IEBC which is not a good thing for this country," noted Bishop Korir.

He also challenged the politicians both from opposition and Jubilee to seek for an amicable solution to the Presidential ballot papers printing row.

"Politicians need to swallow their pride and come to the table to agree on this tender issue because if one side forces to go their way we will have problems," noted the Eldoret Catholic Diocese Bishop.
