NASA's Nairobi leaders on Sunday hit out at President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto over the recent verbal “attacks” on their leader and flagbearer Raila Odinga.
Governor Evans Kidero, ODM Women Representative aspirant Esther Passaris and senatorial candidate Edwin Sifuna asked the Jubilee-affiliated leaders to stop using Raila as their campaign agenda.
“We launched our manifesto on Saturday, grounded on social justice, elimination of illiteracy, ill-health, poverty and bad leadership. Why don’t you tell us what your agenda for Kenyans will be?” Kidero asked as quoted by the Star.
Passaris on her part accused Jubilee of trying to awaken the ghosts of the 2007-08 post-election violence through whipping up tribal emotions.
Sifuna asked the president to own up to his flaws and stop using Raila as a scapegoat to justify his shortcomings.
“Respect is two-way. We are asking the President to lead by example. He must show respect to the opposition leader. We are not going to expect a peaceful election, where you keep on insulting our leaders,” he said.
They addressed the press after attending church service at Riruta PCEA.
