Mr Namwamba’s contribution to the party has been minimal but he has since blamed unmentioned individuals within the party of allegedly frustrating him and even convened a Press Conference with legislators from his Western backyard allied to the party to express his dissatisfaction.

Kisii ODM Youth League Chairman Erick Janganya on Wednesday differed with the Secretary General and urged him to fight for his space within the party.

“I have nothing against Ababu but it’s really disappointing that a senior person like him in the party can still complain of sabotage by other members in the execution of his roles. I think time has come for him to stop being a cry baby and work for the sake of solidifying the party,” he said.

“He has been in politics for a while and he must understand that it’s all about fighting for his space. As SG, you have the authority that is next to the party leader so it’s ironical that he complains of being sidelined from the party’s important activities,” he added.

Janganya said the outspoken Budalang’i lawmaker risked becoming politically irrelevant if he continued to give his detractors space to outsmart him within the party.

“As the official spokesperson of the party, Namwamba must stamp his authority by squeezing his detractors. He may as well become politically irrelevant if he doesn’t act as SG and just reduce himself to a cry baby who seems confused all times,” said Janganya.
