Former Kibwezi MP Kalembe Ndile has asked Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka to stop embarrassing himself and quit NASA.
Ndile argues that the former Vice President is unwanted in the Raila Odinga led coalition.
Speaking to journalists at the Machakos Law Courts on Wednesday, Ndile said Raila’s troops were looking for every excuse to kick Kalonzo out of their way ahead of 2022.
Ndile, who unsuccessfully contested for the Mavoko parliamentary seat in last year’s general election said Raila was seeing Kalonzo as a threat to his 2022 plans.
“Kalonzo Musyoka should think and make bold decisions if he wants to survive politically,” Ndile said.
The former MP said Raila lost hope on Kalonzo when he skipped his inauguration as the People’s President on January 30.
Ndile said the verbal attacks from Raila’s allies to Kalonzo were clear indications that the Wiper leader was not wanted in NASA.
The former MP who dissolved his TIP TIP party to merge with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s party in the run up to the 2017 general election told Kalonzo to stop being soft.
He pleaded with the Wiper leader to look for political partners who will support his 2022 presidential bid.
Kalonzo signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Raila that was to see him fly the NASA ticket in 2022.
There have however been claims that Raila may trash the MoU after he lost twice in last year’s presidential election.
Kalonzo has been under criticism and rebuke after he skipped Raila’s inauguration as the People’s President on January 30.
A section of ODM politicians have openly told him to state his position in NASA or quit.
On Wednesday, a letter purportedly written by Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho directed to Kalonzo to explain his commitment in NASA surfaced online.
The Orange party has however dismissed the letter terming it propaganda aimed at creating rifts in NASA.
Kalonzo party will convene on March 16 to chat way forward for Kalonzo’s 2022 bid and decide on the party’s future in the NASA coalition.
