[Photo: Courtesy]As August 8 polls near, election campaigns are ongoing nationwide, with politicians seeking wider support for their bid. Some are doing it with choppers, vehicles, as some do the same on donkey cats, bicycles, motorbikes and on foot. However a Nasa supporter has asked the brigade to do it on foot, to ensure they physically meet everyone in villages. The supporter from Kakamega county, called ODM Director of Communications Philip Etale on Radio, Wednesday, and asked him to urge top Nasa leadership to stop campaigning in choppers.Below is Etale's revelation on how the call went, and how he thinks about it."While on the live radio talkshow Mazungumzo Waziwazi on Radio Jambo last night, majority of listeners who support Nasa asked me to tell my Nasa bosses to stop the 'Chopper Business' and start visiting wananchi in the villages and market places. One caller called Caleb from Lubao in Shinyalu Constituency said and I quote: "Nataka kumwambia Bw Etale aambie wakubwa wake kwamba sisi tuko NASA kabisa lakini tunaka wakuje kwa vijiji, makanisani na hata wakule omena pamoja na sisi, wawache tu kuruka juu na kufanya rallies mahali pamoja". This one touched me. Yes, I support our supporters. This is the way to go. Raundi hii lazima kieleweke. Tufanye mambo kitofauti."Etale shared this on his social media account, Thursday.
