The county government of Kisii has been accused of compromising some of the contractors who have seen betraying their association.
They claimed that the contractors have defended the county that they have agreed to how the contractors are going to be paid and there is no corruption in the administration.
According to the Kisii county contractors association led by chairman Kennedy Mariera, they said that there are some contractors who have been compromised by the county government to defend it against graft in the administration but they are not going to allow that in their association.
Mariera who was addressing the media on Thursday evening at a Kisii hotel said that on Thursday morning there was an unknown group purporting to be contractors who called the media and gave a report defending the county government about the recent report on corruption by the EACC.
“There is a certain group who are purporting to be contractors who gave the media statement saying that they are representing us," said Mariera.
"I want to assure residents that we don’t know them, they are some individuals who what to defend the county yet they our debts,” said Mariera.
In addition, he added that those are people are just trying to benefit themselves.
“In the real sense, the county government has got our debts and those who are defending the county by calling themselves contractors we what to warn them, what we need is our payment from 2013,” added Mariera.
