Opposition coalition NASA has claimed credit for the free secondary school education programme pledge.
Both NASA and Jubilee have made the pledge to Kenyans as the August polls shape up.
The opposition promised to implement the programme within 90-days of their election win.
Speaking on Thursday during a NASA rally in Kilifi County, the outfit's co-principal Musalia Mudavadi accused the Jubilee adminstration of copying NASA's manifesto on the programme.
“The President is the one who is a copycat on the matter of free secondary education. If you find an extract from the defunct United Democratic Front (UDF) manifesto, which bore ANC and now Nasa coalition, then you will see the matter on free education. I had already pledged that, so the President is copying me,” he said.
Mudavadi further announced that NASA will prioritize education, accusing President Kenyatta has neglected the sector.
“We want to guarantee all Kenyan children fully publicly funded, compulsory ECDE, primary and secondary school education,” he said.
