Members drawn from Kisii County have been called upon to shun from criticising the county government of Kisii.
According to Riana ward representative Phillip Motonu, the current county government under the leadership of James Ongwae has performed well and there was no need to start rallying against him and above all bad mouthing his performance in service delivery.
Motonu said that most of the members of parliament in Kisii County are just wasting their time and they will soon realise that the ground doesn’t support them come 2017 when they will be voted out.
“No MCA is against the current Governor James Ongwae and all we want is the local MPs to ensure they give him maximum support so that he can deliver his promises before we get into the elections,” he added.
He told them to focus their energy on over-sighting the executive and leave the MCAs to oversight the county governments.
Speaking at St Peters Suneka Grounds on Wednesday during a parents day meeting the MCA urged the resident to consider giving Ongwae another term in office as he is the one who can work well and deliver.
“Most of this MPs you see around are not trustworthy and all they think is based on self-gain and not the public,” he added.
