The victorious community church leadership led by the church overseer Bishop Dr. Jackson Maina says instead of criticizing the electoral body, they should offer guidance and support to enable it conduct smooth fresh presidential elections.
The clergy spoke during a press conference in Nakuru town on Tuesday where they said IEBC was a constitutional commission hence it has the mandate to ensure that the sovereign will of the people of Kenya is done through a free and fair electoral process.
“Instead of the political class playing critic to the electoral body, it would be wise to give input on what needs to improve of its work instead of engaging in unnecessary rhetoric that serves to waste time,” said the clergy.
While lauding Kenyans who have continued to pray for peace and stability in the country, Bishop Maina noted that criticizing the electoral body was equal to casting doom on the Kenyan constitution 2010 which created IEBC and outlines its roles.
This, he said, is ill of such critics as they in one way or the other participated in voting for the constitution during referendum time.
