Cord leader Raila Odinga has called for the arrest and prosecution of corrupt government officials.
Speaking during a news conference held at his Karen home on Friday, Raila said the country has reached an unprecedented level of runway graft yet those responsible for taming graft were sleeping on their job.
The former prime minister noted that the State has the mandate to arrest and charge any official with or without the consent of the opposition leaders.
"There is nothing to stop this government from arresting Governors, MCAs, MPs whether they are from Jubilee or Cord, who are involved in corruption and prosecuting them," he said, as quoted by Capital FM.
According to Raila, the role of the opposition is only to expose possible cases of corruption in order for the government to address them.
"All the investigative agencies fall under the national government, they don’t fall under the Opposition. We are not in the government. We can only expose corruption," he added.
Raila reminded President Uhuru and his Deputy William Ruto that they have all the instruments they need to ensure that the country is free from corruption.
