Speaking at Sachagwaan secondary school in Kuresoi North yesterday during a fundraiser in aid of the school, Salat alleged that Ruto has been talking ill of the party in his political forums.

Salat said that the party is not happy with ill comments the deputy president has been allegedly making about it.

“The deputy president should know that Kanu gave him a life in politics, he should therefore respect the party and stop malicious talk,” he said.

Salat said that Kanu is there to stay whether William Ruto liked it or not, adding that the deputy president should learn to respect other leaders.

He accused the DP of lacking democracy principles, noting that forcing people to align to particular parties or forums is not democratic.

“The deputy president lacks democratic principles, you cannot go around forcing people to join your party, people must be left to make their own decisions,” he added.

Salat also lashed out at Ruto accusing him of failing to unite people from the Rift Valley. He alleged that people in Rift Valley are divided and that as the deputy president, Ruto should take the responsibility of uniting them.
