Kwale governor Salim Mvurya has told off Mombasa governor Hassan Ali Joho to stop his ‘persistent show of disrespect’ to President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking on Saturday in Kombani when he issued bursaries to top county students, Mr Mvurya warned that the presidency as an institution must be respected by all Kenyans irrespective of social standing.
“If you want to see a country respected, you must respect the President. You cannot keep on abusing President Kenyatta, he deserves respect,” he said as quoted by the Nation.
On Thursday, Joho gave utterances that discredited President Uhuru Kenyatta’s involvement in the development projects in Mombasa.
During the commissioning of a footbridge in Buxton and water drainage project in Bamburi, Joho told Kenyatta that the two were projects of the previous government and that the president should initiate his own projects.
