Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has asked politicians to stop dividing the country on tribal lines.
Addressing residents at Machakos town on Sunday, Mutua said that divisive politics will not help to tackle the issues facing the people.
Mutua said that time has come for politicians to unite the county and stop engaging in divisive and rhetoric talks.
“Politicians should realize that divisive politics has no place in Kenya and it is time for them to unite Kenyans,” he said.
The county governor said he will not take part in divisive and selfish politics saying that his dream is to unite Machakos locals.
Mutua urged residents to support his development agenda saying that he has their interests at heart.
The governor said that his government has started development projects that will see locals’ access basic services.
He said that the county has started drilling water boreholes in every ward across Machakos.
Mutua said that the boreholes will enable residents to have access to water a commodity he said is scarce in the county.
