Githunguri MP Njoroge Baiya has hit out at Cord leader Raila Odinga over his recent claim that Jubilee government is allegedly funding secret projects.

The MP says that Raila wants to taint Jubilee government ahead of the 2017 elections.

Baiya notes that Raila has no evidence on his claims and only wants to engage the Uhuru government in unnecessary propaganda.

“Raila’s intention is to confuse the Jubilee government as we approach the 2017 general elections,” he said the Mashujaa day celebrations at Githunguri on Thursday.

The MP stated that Raila’s claims that the Sh6.8 Billion Northern Water Collector Tunnel will have adverse effects on the environment are mere speculations.

He said that Raila was in government when the Master Plan of the controversial project was being laid.

The MP said that Raila is shocked by the development record the Jubilee government has made within the four years.

Baiya  asked Kenyans not to be confused by the opposition which he said is afraid of the coming 2017 polls.

“I urge Kenyans not to fall for the tricks being played by the opposition and instead support the Jubilee government,” he added.

Raila has been criticized by politicians allied to Jubilee over his claims on the controversial water project.

He claimed that the water project will have adverse effects on the environment.

The cord leader alleged that once completed the project will turn some counties into deserts.

Jubilee government has however defended the project which is funded by the government and the World Bank saying that the project will continue.
