Former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka has accused Jubilee of planning to dis-allocate Mwea Scheme land by favoring particular ethnic groups and politicians.
Musyoka hosted some of the victims of the disputed land at his party headquarters in Nairobi.
Most of those who risk eviction from the scheme have been there for more than 35 years.
Musyoka said, “As the party leader of Wiper, I will not stand by and watch as innocent Kenyans are harassed, displaced and deprived of their livelihoods. Wiper now urges the Jubilee government to stop the impending evictions to avert bloodshed.”
The Wiper leader said Jubilee was issuing outsiders with huge portions of land and denying deserving locals.
“I will go there when I am visiting Embu. I do not have the date yet, but we want to do this before the end of the year. Before I go there, I am telling Jubilee that if they evict people as far as we are concerned, it is going to amount to ethnic cleansing,” said Kalonzo.
