Residents of Bonchari constituency have accused their Member of parliament Zebedeo Opore for facilitating a gang known as 'Sungusungu'.
The residents now claim that Opore is using the gang to intimidate his opponents and youths who are opposing his leadership in the constituency.
The residents who took to their social media site on Facebook to react on the page titled 'Bonchari Social, Economic Forum' the residents have condemned the acts of the legislator who they say is an embarrassment in politics.
"#2017oporeyaya(2017 Opore No!). How do you prioritise building latrines instead of classrooms? What kind of thinking is this? Why use Sungusungu to intimidate the less fortunate in society? Your days are numbered as 2017 is near the corner," posted Fred Erick.
"Bonchari does not have an heir to take over leadership come 2017, even when Opore is fruitlessly assembling goons who will help him win 2017 elections. Sungusungu is an establishment of Opore and it should be shunned and castigated in equal measure. #Team Change 2017", posted Domie N Kids.
Mauti Okendi Wilberforce also posted that:
"Goonism, sungusungu, and the administrator are one thing...how can you facilitate a gang to kill innocent and poor residents who are tired of your poor leadership. Stop the selfish act or face charges before God. When other people are asking the government to give them roads, schools, and hospitals...someone somewhere is asking money for sungusungu..bure kabisa!"
Sungusungu gang has been killing many within the constituency and the area MP has been associated for facilitating and supporting the gang financially.
Many people who oppose his leadership have been shut down and killed by the sungusungu. The gang was believed to have been suspended in the area but seems its back again as 2017 elections beckon.
