Kisii based civil societies has come out in a show of solidarity with other organisations that are currently facing harassment from the NGO coordination board and urged NGO Coordination Board Executive Director Fazul Mahamed to stop fixing them for self-interest purposes.
Led by Wanaichi Wazalendo director Timothy Mogere they said that the targeted organisations have been in the forefront to keep the government in check.
“Fazul can’t give a genuine reason to why they are harassing other organisations and he is being used by Jubilee government to silence the active organisations in the society,” said Mogere.
Among the organisations that were summoned by the board include Officials of Muslim for Human Rights (Muhuri) and Katiba Institute.
