The Kalenjin community has been asked to vote for the opposition chief Raila Odinga in the next month's fresh presidential election.

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Uasin Gishu chairman David Songok says Odinga has the interests of Kenyans at heart hence need to be supported.

Addressing the press in Eldoret town, Monday, Songok further cautioned the Kalenjin community against blindly following Deputy President William Ruto.

"I don't know what befell our people as they are blindly following Ruto and one day we will lead them into a ditch," added Songok who unsuccessfully vied for the Turbo Parliamentary seat in the August polls.

Since the departure of retired President Daniel Moi from the political scenes, Ruto has been arguably the Kalenjin defacto leader having been able to mobilize the community to support Raila Odinga in 2007 before later join forces with President Uhuru Kenyatta to win the 2013 general elections.
