Former Kisauni MP Anania Mwaboza has warned NASA leaders against giving conditions for a dialogue with President-elect Uhuru Kenyatta. The former MP said dialogue between Uhuru and NASA leader Raila Odinga should be unconditional, for the sake of the interests of Kenyans.Speaking to journalists in Mombasa Town on Thursday, Mwaboza hit out at NASA leaders, accusing them of attempting to intimidate Uhuru in the name of dialogue. He said the opposition must come clean and stop issuing threats before they can hold talks with Uhuru.Mwaboza said the country is in a state of confusion following the controversial October 26 repeat presidential election which the opposition withdrew from."The opposition must stop giving conditions and threats and allow for sincere dialogue with Uhuru Kenyatta to take place," said Mwaboza. He said the threats being issued by the opposition will stall the process of initiating dialogue.Mwaboza at the same time appealed to religious leaders to spearhead unity in the country. The Jubilee politician observed that the country is much divided after the October 26 repeat presidential poll.Pressure has been piling on Uhuru and Raila to hold talks to address the political uncertainty facing the country. On Tuesday, Taita Taveta Governor Granton Samboja appealed to Raila and Uhuru to put aside their political differences and dialogue. The county boss said the country’s economic and political stability will be left hanging in the balance if the two leaders fail to dialogue.Raila during a press briefing on Tuesday said NASA is ready to hold talks with Uhuru on how the country should conduct fresh credible presidential elections. This came after Uhuru on Monday said he will dialogue with opposition only after they exhaust all available constitutional mechanisms.
