Nairobi county askaris have been accused of harassing traders in Kibera.
The traders now want the askaris to stop the harassing habit or else they will protest to the county headquarters to give their grievances to Governor Evans Kidero.
Speaking at Kenyatta market on Friday, the traders said that the harassment they receive from county askaris is embarrassing and has affected their businesses.
"We are tired of the harassment from the county askaris. We have encountered losses as the items the throw away get spoiled. We pay taxes but the askaris want us to bribe them in order to operate. This habit should stop," said Simon Omoke, a trader.
"Nairobi county askaris lack discipline. They should know our money runs the county government, without it, they would be jobless. The askaris must respect traders as we move around the markets to sell," stated John Musyoka.
