Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has accused Senator Hassan Omar of fueling malicious propaganda against his administration.Joho on Thursday accused Omar of feeding locals with false information in regards to the county activities.The Mombasa Governor said Omar’s claims that his administration has misappropriated and embezzled taxpayer’s funds are malicious.Joho lashed out at Omar, claiming he is out to discredit his government with the aim of winning the resident's support.“Senator Omar’s claims that the county government has misappropriated funds is mere propaganda and a plot to tarnish my name,” said Joho, as quoted by the Nation.The embattled Mombasa Governor said that he will not allow the senator to tarnish his name, adding that Omar has nothing to offer Mombasa people and is only relying on propaganda to survive politically.“We all know that Omar has nothing to offer and only wants to discredit what we have achieved over the last four years,” said Joho.“It is fine that he has chosen propaganda as a campaign tool but he should know that Mombasa people don’t tolerate propagandists,” he added.The county boss said he will not be intimidated by Omar’s propaganda and dismissed his manifesto which was launched on Wednesday, saying his government has already implemented what the senator is promising to do if elected governor.
