Opposition leader Raila Odinga has warned politicians from his Nyanza backyard to stop ‘hindering’ his presidential chances by engaging in unnecessary political feuds.
Politicians from Luo-Nyanza have been engaging in public character assassination with some even going physical, a move that paints Odinga negatively on the national arena.
On Tuesday, Odinga urged the politicians to apply alternative dispute resolutions than embracing violence, which he said would hamper his presidential ambitions.
“It is very primitive for some of you to revert to physical fights when competing against each other. You have to embrace other alternatives other than engaging in fights over political positions,” he said.
“Some of these incidents taints us negatively hence hindering my presidential ambitions. You need to be focused in whatever you do. It is people who are going to choose their representatives so no one should be worried,” he added.
Last Month, Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma was pictured fighting with an opponent in front of Mr. Odinga during a function in the constituency.
